Rick Devens On Survivor 50 Prep and His Gameplay in Edge of Extinction
The road to Survivor 50 is heating up, and the Castaway Consultants podcast recently sat down with one of the most electric players from the game's modern era: Rick Devens.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49 Finale
This was actually a really exciting finale, I thought. I thought all of them had a shot at winning. It was fun to have a more evenly matched group of finalists, even if I didn't think any of their games were particularly impressive.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 12
Lololololololololololololol. The Knowledge is Power Advantage is one of my least favorite Advantages in all of Survivor and I am tickled pink that, once again, it failed. It's never worked once and that makes me so happy.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 11
This episode doesn't quite reach the heights of last week's stellar episode, but it was still enjoyable enough. I was especially surprised by how dangerous Steven's Journey appeared to be.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 10
This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for this episode of Survivor. It's certainly my favorite since the Shannon-boot and it may be my favorite of the season so far. This was just so much fun with so many different possibilities.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 9
This episode of Survivor left me feeling pretty annoyed. Not by any of the gameplay, but my Paramount+ app crashed right after the second vote was read at Tribal Council.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 8
This was a really fun and interesting episode, even if there was some really bad gameplay involved. We had everyone on one beach and lines were drawn. Now our group is split in half and they have to deal with those lines.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 7
We just had a normal merge! Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with the Earn the Merge format with half of the castaways getting Immunity, but if everyone is living on one beach, it's a merge.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 6
Well this episode was quite the roller coaster of emotions for me. On one hand, Knowledge is Power is back, which is an advantage I loathe with every fiber of my being. On the other hand, [Spoiler] went home and I straight up cheered.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 5
Another day, another pretty straightforward episode of Survivor 49. I've heard some people say this season has been boring recently. Sometimes the best moves in Survivor are boring ones.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 4
It was nice to get a tribe swap from three to two tribes. It's been a minute since we've had one of those, so it was a nice change of pace. Other than that, this is what I would describe as a perfectly average episode of Survivor.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 3
Wow. What a wild episode. I don't think I've ever felt as bad for a single tribe in all of Survivor as I do for the Kele tribe. This was a brutal episode for them and for Canada.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49, Episode 2
This episode confirmed what I suspected last week; this cast is full of Looney Tunes. What a goofy bunch and a really fun episode. There was a lot of bad gameplay this week, but I enjoyed ever minute of it.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 49 Premiere
Survivor is back, baby! And what's interesting this time is that we know two of these people are going to be on season 50 as well, so not only am I trying to guess who the winner is, but which two are returning!
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 48 Finale
Well, that was certainly a season of Survivor. I was really enjoying this season until the slog of the Star and Mary boots. Those were painful to sit through. I'm glad we're moving on from this season. I'm sure they're all super nice people, but they didn't make for very compelling television a lot of the time.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 48, Episode 12
Finally! Something happened on this season that I can make sense of. My stomach nearly dropped out of my gut when I saw that second Mitch vote.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 48, Episode 11
After this episode was over, I saw a comment about it that was one of the funniest things I've ever read. "This episode should have been an email."
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 48, Episode 10
Well, this episode was pretty much a race to the bottom. It had some funny moments, but this was definitely a below average episode of Survivor and easily my least favorite episode of the season.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 48, Episode 9
Man, I loved watching Kyle and David square off in this episode. It kinda reminded me of "Spy vs. Spy" watching them scheme against one another.
Ryan’s Analysis: Survivor 48, Episode 8
Well, David went from someone I thought had a solid chance of winning to this game to no chance really quickly. I'm pretty shocked at how quickly he fell apart. That wasn't great, but what was great was the Journey Challenge.
